While NLP was first developed more than 35 years ago it is still growing in popularity in 2010. NLP trainer Michael Beale explains what it is to him.
The name NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) allegedly came when NLP Co-Creator Richard Bandler was stopped for speeding in the US. The policeman asked him what he did for a living. At this time he hadn't given the field a name - however he noticed that in the stairwell of his car there was a book on Neurology, a book on Linguistics and a book on Programming.
He answered the policeman by reading a part of the title from each book, and the name NLP, or Neuro-Linguistic Programming was born..........
